Prof. F. P. Amerasinghe Memorial Gold Medal for Excellence in Zoology
This award is given to the student who obtains the highest final GPA (Grade Point Average) of the B.Sc. Zoology Special Degree on the basis of criteria determined by the Faculty of Science and all the courses required for the B.Sc. Special Degree in Zoology at the first available attempts. A minimum of 3.5 FGPA should be obtained to be eligible for the award.

Prof. Nimal and Savitri Gunatilleke Gold Medal for Excellence in Biology
This award is given annually to the student who has recorded the best performance at all 100, 200, 300 and 400 level Special Degree Program Examinations in Biology and Obtained a minimum of B+ or its equivalent at the first available attempt and passed all the subjects at the first available attempt in the relevant examinations conducted by the Faculty of Science and has obtained a minimum of a Second Class (Upper Division) pass or its equivalent Cumulative or Final GPA.
