Department of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology

I graduated from the University of Peradeniya with a B.Sc. Special Degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (First Class Honours) in 2017 and worked at the University as a demonstrator from 2017- 2019. I then completed my PhD from The University of Melbourne, Australia in the field of Molecular biology and Genetics in 2024. Currently, I am working as a Lecturer at the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. My research interests include genetics of developmental pathways, stem cells and cancer biomarkers. Having had a background in Bioinformatics during my Bachelors, I am also interested in research that involved phylogenetics and Ecology.
