Geological Society
University Geological Society is one of the most famous and active societies in University of Peradeniya, established in 1965. The society also conduct field trips, hikes, annual picnics, geo talks, entertainment events, publish geo tab and participate on various educational endeavors.
The purpose of the society is to provide opportunities for the study and discussion on geological aspects; To improve the skills and inter-relationships, and to promote national and international understanding about the importance of geology

GIS Club
The GIS club is to gather, activate, educate and develop technological and theoretical knowledge in GIS of undergraduate and postgraduate students, organizing, coordinating, guiding and assisting projects to promote GIS education among university communities, school communities and external professionals, driving GIS activities for solving social problems, making best timely decisions and improving of comfortable living condition of the community for better Sri Lanka, providing a GIS support structure for solving critical geographic base challenges and be a nucleus for innovative educational and research programs for a sustainable world
