My vision is to strive to be an academic who inspires students in teaching and high quality research, while valuing academic freedom and integrity, contributing to the vision statement of the Faculty of Science, which is ‘to be a globally renowned Faculty of Science contributing towards the development of a vibrant scientific community’. I would desire to advance in research in microbiology, continuing with interdisciplinary collaboration, and integrate research into teaching, in order to produce high quality graduates. Placed amidst a multicultural, multi religious and multi ethnic student population, while respecting this diversity, I would strive to enhance soft skills of both undergraduate and postgraduate students, in order for them to be equipped to face a diverse world with many challenges.
