Ongoing Research and Projects

Improvement of the Ridge Type Estimation in Logistic Regression Model

Ph.D. Research: Mr. Varathan - Although the most common estimation technique for estimating the parameters in the logistic regression model is Maximum Likelihood estimation (MLE), the variance of the MLE is inflated, and hence inefficient estimates may produce when multicollinearity exists among explanatory variables. To tackle this problem, many scholars proposed alternative biased estimators to MLE based on sample information. The objective of this research is to find more efficient estimators by combining sample information with the prior information of the parameter space. The performance of these proposed estimators will be evaluated by comparing them with other existing estimators by means of Mean squared error matrix and scalar mean squared error criterion using simulation studies and real data sets.

Improved estimation with incomplete prior information in Misspecified Regression Model

Ph.D. Research: Mr. M. Kayanan - The misspecification of the linear regression model is unavoidable when fitting models, and it may occur due to including some irrelevant explanatory variables or excluding some relevant explanatory variables. The case of estimation under misspecified regression model due to excluding relevant variable with incorrectly specified prior information will be improved in this research, and the performance of the proposed estimates will be evaluated by comparing them with other existing estimators by means of Mean squared error matrix and scalar mean squared error criterion using simulation studies and real data sets.
