About Me

Currently working as a lecturer at the Department of Statistics and Computer Science, Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya. My research interests include Privacy and Security, Big Data, GIS, Data Mining, Artificial Neural Networks, and Fuzzy Logic. I'm currently on study leave following a PhD at the RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.

Ongoing Research and Projects

Big Data Privacy and Security for Large Scale Data Mining (PhD Research)

Current world shows a very high interest in data mining over big data collected from sources such as health, Finance, social networking, etc. However, the same aspect may sabotage the privacy of such databases, if enough privacy measures are not implemented for data sharing. While this challenge being addressed, finding different methods to cope with the exponential growth of data makes this process even more difficult. Therefore, privacy preserving big data mining can be considered essential in the big data era. During this research, the issues available in the current methods will be investigated in synthesizing robust methods for privacy preservation in big data for large scale data mining.
