I am a Professor in Geology attached to the Department of Geology, conducting courses in Geology, Hydrogeology, Applied Geophysics and Water Resources Management  at Both Undergraduate and Post graduate levels.  Ialso serve at the Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya as the Coordinator of the MSC Program in Water Resources Management and Co-coordinator of the MSC Program in Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology.I obtained my BSC Honors and MPhil degrees from the University of Peradeniya.I got a DANIDA fellowship and completed my PhD studies at the university of Copenhagen, Demark. I am also a Chartered Geologist (SL). I have also authored to more than 50 national and international research publications and to a substantial number of county’s geology sector relevant Project reports. I have supervised more than 30 graduate students who were perusing for MSC, MPhil and PhD Degrees.
